Got to see Rick today and meet his family. A great family they are and I had the pleasure of spending some time with them in the Big Apple.

That's my Ritter gig bag. Hell, that may come in handy if and when I start hitch-hiking to gigs. I've got the bag to protect me from night blind drivers and the Dustpan to protect me from muggers.

Once I got that Dustpan going, I discovered that it's a very lively axe. It's got a real 'harmonic convergence' going on, right around 494 Hz. Works out just great for my tuning. Each one of these guitars is truly unique, which is one of the things I really appreciate about them. Very responsive--the notes really jump out at you. Sustain is very long and even. I will keep you posted, as I plan on recording a few demos of this guitar in a few different styles.

That's pretty cool, Mike.

I had the pleasure of dining with Rick, and he can really "hide" the chow. LOL!

Harry

P.S. He makes a great guitar too!

I was nervous that Howard was going to bring you by Hanks Sunday night (just for a walk on the seamy side). Nervous for you but mainly nervous for me to have to play for you.
You would have had the pleasure of watching me turn red in the face shouting threats at the junkie girl who had just knocked a mic stand into my steel.
But apprehensions aside, it would have been a gas to meet you.

Hey Rick, I've already figured out a few interesting ways of beating the hell out of that Dustpan. I'm gonna wind up with some new callouses, for sure. That's one lively guitar! I tweaked her just right, and she almost plays herself. But I can't let that happen--I like to be in control. You done good--real good.

Mike, please keep us posted as you're getting along with your dustpan. Lively is a good description.

There were magnificent players at the HSGC, but IMO, nobody plays harmonics like Bobby Ingano who was never seen without a smile or a Dustpan (so it seemed). You really just had to be there to hear how his harmonics rang out (forever it seemed) on that 'Pan.
