Hi all,

I have a Peavey Session 400 built in 1977 that I would like to sell. It has a brand new Peavey Black Widow 1501-4 speaker, and has that great vintage Peavey sound (which, IMO, is better than any of their subsequent amps). I have found that for my taste, the Fender Steel King gives me more of the 1960's pedal steel sound that I enjoy....so, I thought this would be a good opportunity to move this excellent amp to a steeler who appreciates the great sound of the old Peaveys.

Cosmetically, the grill is in perfect shape, as is the tolex. Bonus...the black stickers on the knobs are still there!

Asking $400 for the amp, and I would much rather deliver it than ship....otherwise, I will take to the UPS store and have them box/ship it (unless I can find a box at a local guitar store...) if needed. I will be in Chicago next week, and possibly may be in Nashville just after Thanksgiving, so if you are in those areas (or along the way), then I can hand-deliver.

Thanks!

Joe

Thanks for the nice words, Mike!

This is definitely an amp that does not show it's age, that's for sure. Someone wanting that great vintage Peavey sound and an amp that will deliver for even another 30 years without so much as a crackle in the sound will love this amp as much as I have.

I have had many inquiries, but no firm takers just yet.

I will be driving to Chicago this coming Thursday (11/16/06) and will be driving to Nashville next week on Friday (11/24/06) so if you are in those areas (or on the way) and would be interested in the amp, there is no shipping costs

Thanks everyone!

Joe

I have played through this amp at my store and I thought it was the best sounding Session 400 I have ever played through. VERY CLEAN too.

This is just like my gigging amp, same year and everything - except mine has a stock JBL. I can vouch for the tone of these earlier Sessions. Great amps.......IMO they're about the warmest you can get in a solid state steel amp.

Thanks Dyke and Chris...

Maybe Muttonhead can use a Session 400, Dyke?

By the way....I'd be quite open to discussion regarding a trade for a Fender tube amp.

Joe: If it's still available, what would the shipping be to California, and what form of payment would you take ?
