The 424 is a full-function 6-input mixer plus multitrack cassette recorder (up to 4 channels may be recording simultaneously). It has a multitude of features, and is a highly flexible unit which is capable of producing highly professional results.
I am the original owner; this unit is in perfect shape, and has seen very little use, perhaps 10 total hours. (Shortly after purchase for use with a synthesizer, I bought a new keyboard with a built-in hard drive recorder, so the Tascam has been stored in its original box ever since.)
