I just saw a very unusual lap steel. It's a Harmolin 7-string with 2 knee levers. The pickup is about 5 inches and perfectly round (circle). It's a solid body lap steel with a volume knob and a small push-in button or switch, the use of which is unknown. The knee levers are for changing pitch, but one of them was partially broken and there were no strings on the steel to test it out. It has a large aluminum plate that covers the bridge with the name Harmolin molded into it. I have seen another Harmolin instrument, but it was an acoustic 7-string. This must be quite rare. If anyone is interested in this, the seller is asking $300 and he's in the Los Angeles area. HIs email is: ocarina-man@juno.com. It will need some work: a new nut, new bridge, fix the knee pedals, etc. The other thing i don't know about is the pickup. The guy says the strings may need to be magnetized before the pickup will work!
