I moved to Phoenix in 1970, and met Stan Oscarson. He was very ill and passed away about 1 year later. Stan was too ill to play when I met him, but he had recorded with several local acts, and was a good steel player. I remember that he played a ZB Pedal steel (They were made in Phoenix)

The guy I'm thinking of played lap-console and guitar and or bass and played a Hawaiian gig at a hotel that had a lounge. He hired sidemen and did a fire dance of some sort. I played the gig once or twice. |
