Ronnie;

I don't think the Session 500 was part of the Mark series of amps. (But I could be wrong. I haven't had mine for years.) I believe the 500's were made in the late-seventies/early-eighties. Great amps! Fun phase shifter, too. They're just really heavy!

Not to hijack this post, but there were two models of the Nashville 500. The orignal model with the "small cabinet" and then the later one that had a larger cabinet as Peavey had considered using an 18" speaker. That never came about. I know the original (small cabinet) model was not a "Mark" series amp as I had one, and I've seen the larger cabinet models and there wasn't any "Mark" designation on the ones I've seen .

BTW, Personal opinion the Session 500 is the best steel guitar amp Peavey built.

Jack;

I had a short one, (Which I've heard was one of only 25 short ones made. Probably from the first run.) The rest were taller, by a few inches. With the short ones, you had to take out the power amp to get the speaker out. They made them just tall enough to eliminate that problem. I traded it in on the Nashville/Vegas combination. I had a taller one for a little while. I sold it because it was just too heavy for my aging back.

I do think you're right about the 18".
