I was distressed when my bookmarked links to your great resource information were coming up dead. I'm so glad you are publishing this info. Thanks, John. [This message was edited by Jon Light on 09 April 2004 at 05:23 PM.] |

John, Thanks for the information. I have an older Triple 8, Custom (3 single pickups wound circumferentially around all 8 strings per neck). What would be the difference in the schematic? Would I just delete the reference to the blender pot and delete one pickup per neck?
Thanks, Ron |

To appreciate the work and expertise of John
Tipka would be to meet him.
I had the opportunity a few years back when my wife and myself drove from PA to Ohio to meet with
John. He picked me up at the motel and drove
me to his home where he has his workshop.
His shop was reminiscent of what Leo Fender's shop was like. Every imaginable tool
available everywhere. I dont know how he kept track of them, just like Leo.
His work and determination was just as Leo Fender was. John worked on my four neck stringmaster for hours as the design had changed and John wouldn't give up until the guitar was perfect.
John and his wife Millie were courteous to me and it was a great experience to meet a man like John Tipka.I saw much Leo Fender in John Tipka and John builds a fine non pedal guitar as well, cases etc.
Thanks again John for your kindness and my best to Millie and say hi to your little dog for me
Best to you my friend. I appreciate everything you did for me.
Jody edited to add,I would let no one but John touch any of my Fender guitars.[This message was edited by Jody Carver on 14 August 2004 at 05:54 AM.] |
