More important than the amp being made before Master Volume was added (I think Master Volume sounds fine in a Twin Reverb), this amp was made with the old baffle design. This baffle is not set into a routed slot as are the baffles a couple of years later. It can be easily removed and switched for a new baffle for a 15" speaker.

The transition from blackface to silverface for the TR was 66,some of the early 66 amps have the silver control panel but retain the blackface amp design.Some pickers say the SF amps are better steel amps than the BF. |
