i'm helping a retired musician sell off some gear. i really don't know the value on this stuff, so i'm open to offers.
1. goodrich volume pedal, model #122. it has a large, plastic knob on the side by the jacks. good condition.
2. goodrich volume pedal, model #L10K. good condition.
3.goodrich "super sustain" matchbox, model 7-A. good condition.
4. morley volume boost pedal, model VBO. good condition.
5. dunlop high gain volume pedal, model #GCB-80. like new condition in box.
we're open to offers on one or all, so let me know.
thanks, john

well, since we're going to talk about it here, let's have the whole story.
i know a fellow here that's a retired steel player that i've jammed with a few times. awhile ago, he approached me about helping him sell some stuff. he used to be a dealer for sierra, web, and goodrich. i helped him sell a really nice fender table steel and a web amp. everything went fine.
last week, my friend called me up and told me he had some more stuff to sell, so i drove out to his house to take a look. when i got there, it turned out that he had another friend who had a bunch of gear that he wanted me to sell for him- a sierra D10 pedal steel, a sierra lap steel, and a couple of amps. i took pictures of the stuff, and the second guy left. my friend, whose house we were at, then showed me a box of pedals, which are the things listed above. it was my understanding that all the pedals belonged to my friend, not the third party.
john and i made a deal on the pedal, and all was good. then, this morning, i called my friend up to drive out and get the pedal so i could box it up and send it. he told me that the other guy (third party) had come the night before and taken back one of the amps and the pedal. i told him that i had made a deal with someone, and he had to get it back, so he called, and was told "no".
i should say at this point that i was getting 10% of the sale price of this stuff, which is okay for the larger stuff, but considering the 50 mile round trip, basically is just a favor on this pedal.
i emailed john as soon as i knew, and apologized, offered him the other goodrich pedal plus money back, or all his money back PLUS $5. for the cost of the money order. john was irritated, and i don't blame him. i recently had a guy here on the forum offer to trade me a gibson lap steel for my fender D8 steel. at the last minute, he emailed me and told me his wife wanted him to sell it, not trade it. i emailed him three times offering to buy it outright, but he won't respond.
i'm sorry that this happened i have not been dishonest in any way. i guess that i've found out what the reward is for doing someone a favor, and believe me, i won't be doing it anymore.
john, i am sincerely sorry about what happened, but i wish that you haddn't trashed me in public.

please close this thread out. i am not going to sell these items for these people.
john
