Anyone interested in getting a new fretboard for their steel? I've found a silk screening company that will duplicate any fretboard. Enough players have to show interest. I would expect the cost to be around $25.00. If anyone interested will let me know your thoughts on this, I'll pursue the project The setup costs are what kills most projects of this kind. If enough players can be located to encourage me to pursue this, then I'll investigate it further. I feel that $25.00 to $30.00 is all that players would be willing to pay.
Give me your thoughts on this, including the maximum you would pay for a new fretboard. Tell me the brand of steel you would need a fretboard for (if you are interested). You can do this by email or post it here.[This message was edited by Tom Bradshaw on 22 November 2004 at 04:55 PM.] |

I would love some new 12 string Emmons fretboards with the glossy black paint. Chrome lines are cool, but I don't mind white either. I would need 4 of these babies. Did Emmons use decals for the markers? If so, maybe we could get some from them.

Tom, I don't know how soon, but one day I'd like to own a Williams crossover D-12 like Bobby Lee's, but I think their chunky fretboard rectangular fret markers are less-than-attractive, I'd like any other brand to retrofit...or to design my own, is that feasible?

Hey Tom, I might be interested in a new set for a D10 ZB. I'm about to buy one of my dad's old ZB's and I don't know yet what shape the fret boards are in. If they aren't sharp I'll take two please. Thanks and good to see you post.

Tom.
Is it possible to design some of your own?
Or is this offer only for fretboards that already exist?
And how much are the fretboards without the markers?

I would have paid big money for some 24" Stringmaster fretboards a while back but I got extremly lucky and found some NOS ones on E-Bay. But Stringmaster fretboards always seem to get scratched up and I'll bet you could sell a bunch of those. Hell I might even buy some extra ones myself if they were available. -MJ- |
