I just received an email from John Sanchez who is the son of the late great Art Sanchez who was a wonderful pedal steeler on the West Coast for many years. I knew Art from his days with Rose Maddox as I was playing for her brother Fred and we crossed paths a couple of times. Later in the late seventies we worked a house band gig in Huntington Beach, Ca. for a time and got to be pretty good buds. I gave John a bunch of info I had about him and a CD of his last night with the band for him to enjoy. Does anyone have any memories they could share with him, photos, stories, etc. He's trying to do a musical history of his dad also. He can be contacted by phone at: (915)252-9813 or by email at: elpasoklique@aol.com
Jason Odd.....If you have any info about Art could you pass it along to John.
Jay Dee Maness.....I know you were a student of Art's at one time. Could you tell him about that?....Thanks, JH in Va.
