Lots more telecaster. Continuing an hour plus daily.
More budgeting of day job to meet being able to do music at a level I'm used to, regardless of a growing number of lowballers.
Summation and review of my 4 enjoyable years on b0b's SGF.
That's about it.

Eric,
What bands are lowballing the work that you speak of?
Just curious what's up in that market.

My plans: Finishing (finally) my BA, then entering a university full-time for a year (thanks to my hard-working better half) to get my teacher certification. Fall of 2008? Teaching first grade, Lord willin' and the creek don't rise.
Oh! Music plans? I hope next years sees me with Brad's preamp in my studio. I know I need it like another hole in my head, but...I just love gear and instruments.

Well, I've pretty much succeeded in convincing myself that I'll never afford a CD, so; I've been rehearsing with a very good guitar-player who has graciously agreed to play Rhythm~Guitar for me on a Home~Video Instrumental Tape. Just my Steels and the Rhythm-Guitar. I told him I feel as though I'm asking a Class (A) mechanic to just wash windshields all day, but; the Rhythm is also a very important factor in this endeavor! So far, we have been working on 14-tunes for my new Remington Triple~10 Steelmaster Non-Pedal guitar, which I should receive in just a few more weeks and then we also have 10-instrumentals, so far; that we're working on, using my ’05 Derby PSG. So we'll have a home-video version ‘practice-tape’ for me to sit back and amaze myself by watching from my couch and perhaps sharing with some interested friends! I hope to have this project completed by the end of Jan. 2007, if my luck holds out!
======== 12/14/07: Just an update! We now have 10-tunes worked up on the PSG and 15-tunes on the NPSG! And my new Steelmaster is now in transit to me from the Houston Mfg’r! Things are really l©©kin’ up! “MERRY CHRISTMAS” from me to all of you!

Five of us who have been jamming up a storm in a basement have decided to put a band together and get a few gigs to see how things turn out.
We scooped a 2 month gig, every Friday night, at a legion two towns down the road. The little stage has room for only four band members and the equipment so, we will be alternating to give all five of us our turns at flirting with fame and fortune.
Two of the guys were strictly country but the legion wants mixed so these two guys are now on a huge learning curve.
Planning to drop down to the gand old USA and pay a visit to Herb Remington. Maybe a (NP) D10 could be in the works. |

New years plans- Lord willing...
Learn more Jazz standards on Pedal Steel and Lap Steel.
Play at more retirement homes more often. (Before they keep me in one permanantly)
Start on My 2007 Christmas CD in January so I'll get it done on time.
Show more love and kindness to everyone I meet, and Glorify God in everything I do.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Dom Franco
