I am getting started on a new cd for release at the Dallas show. My good friend Justin Trevino will be at the helm with me in production and will engineer, pick and sing along with a few other surprises. I wanted to ask you guys and gals if there were any songs that you would like for me to record. Only a couple rules apply.
#1 A Way To Survive is out.
#2 This will be a traditional country cd. (I plan to do a tribute to Curly and Hal next year).
#3 If your song does not get picked don't be mad at me.

Let's hear them request.

How about songs that haven't been done as instrumentals so far?

"Mr. Record Man" by Willie Nelson or "The Farmer's Daughter" by Merle Haggard, just to name two of my personal favorites.

And, of course, thanks for asking for suggestions - maybe you should plan to release a 10 CD-Box!

Best Regards, Walter

Johnny,
Just a couple of songs I'd like to hear on steel and they're both by Jack Greene:
Statue of a Fool or There Goes My Everything

Both country classics--thanks and good luck on your new CD--hope to be in Big D for the show in March! Carl

Johnny, here's a good one for both you and Justin. And I think both of you would do a Killer job on it. How about "The Keys in the Mailbox"

Hey Johnny: How about Faron Young's "Sweet Dreams", Johnny Bush "Undo, The Wrong, Undo The Right, or Ray Price "Walk Me To The Door" for starters. Whatever you record, I know it will be great.

Johnny: One more request, that I know you have played hundreds of times. Connie Smith, You've Got Me Right Where You Wan Me. Great waltz, that I've heard you play with such feeling.

How about A-11? I know it's been done but I must admit I'd be curious with your rendition and with Justin singing of course?

Johnny 2 of my favorites & great sounding on steel are "Castle in the sky" (Marty Robbins) & "Success has made a wreck out of our home" (Loretta Lynn. You two will be a great team, no matter what you chose.

Dreaming My Dreams With You (Crystal Gayle/Waylon) and Yellow Roses (Dolly).

Looking forward to picking a copy up in Dallas.

Isn't it about time we had another solo album from Joan?

Regards

Mike
