Saw Vince Gill's show on Saturday night. Absolutely wonderful. One very small thing that spoke volumes was the fact that the show was scheduled to start at 7:30. At 7:29 seventeen musicians walked onstage in the dark. At 7:30 the lights went on and the music began. (Went to 11) What a way to show respect to your audience/fans.
BUT...does anyone know who the steeler is on this tour? I didn't catch the name. Knowing how this forum works, it's probably one of YOU guys...hahaha.
thanks.

He was great. Strummed a Gibson SG with the band when he wasn't steelin'.

Yeah,Russ is a great guitar player...we had a band together in the late 80s(Country Adults)and we both played Telecasters! We rehearsed for a couple of weeks and neither one of us would bring a steel...we finally hired Allyn Love(Steve Wariner Show)...we missed the steel but we were both too lazy to bring one to rehearsal...I could never be accused of being a slave to my art...and evidently, neither could Russ...we had a dynamite medley of"Tiger by the Tail/Purple Haze"worked up...tavern owners had to put up chicken wire in front of their stages...to protect audiences from objects thrown by the Country Adults...
