No, it isn't last night's Mexican buffet.
As I mentioned on Howard R.'s thread, when I play heavier guage strings on an acoustic reso-guitar, I sometimes feel the vibrations through the bar and in my hands and wrists.
At times it can get quite unpleasant.
Does this seem normal? Poor circulation, perhaps? (I'm only 52 years young ).
Does anyone else suffer from this?

Does a heavier bar help with this? I would think it would and give you better tone too. |

Chuck, that's a thought.
Can anyone tell me if there is significant mass to a Shubb GS steel (the kind with the wooden handle)? I prefer the contoured style as opposed to a round bar.

Craig,
I can't comment on the tingling sensation you experience, but i have been using a Swallows bar for about a year now and love it. The wood is very comfortable in my hand. The Swallows bars are weighted, but if my memory serves me correctly, they are still a little lighter than a Scheerhorn. You can probably find weights for various bars on the Internet.
I think a Swallows bar is a real bargain and a great sounding bar that is very comfortable to play.
