In certain situations I need to play my Square Neck Tricone whilst standing, apart from the inevitable visit to the chiropractor, I am concerned about stresses on the metal neck and where would be the most sensible place to attach the strap at the headstock end.
In short, am I going to do any potential damage - this is a beautiful 1930 Style 1 that I recently purchased from a fellow forum member who kept it in remarkable condition, something I want to ensure is continued during my ownership.
Your collective wisdom would be appreciated.
Regards,

Ian,
I too, own a 1927 2.5 Tricone. The wood goes down into the metal neck a good long ways. I remember looking at that when I installed a new set of cones.
IMHO I don't see how you would ever have a problem.
I use a plain old strap that ties at the head stock. I use a strap lock at the end pin, so I can't drop it from there.
I find the guitar to be louder and fuller in the standing position, as one's body does not block the sound.

Put it on a padded keyboard stand. I've done that and it works fine.
