Maybe this guy hangs around here, but if you haven't heard this CD, buy it now -- "What is wrong with right." David plays great country steel, but is one of the very few pickers I've heard who can get an honest R&B sound out of his guitar, as well as, play horn charts.

Great stuff, band can really get it done..

I was talking to David just last week about the Forum before a concert they did in Santa Rosa. A few other members were there as well.

You think he sounds good on that album, he was just smokin' live! Appears to be equally comfortable on both necks.

Dave Zirbel told me his '75 Sho-Bud used to belong to Ricky Davis.

I've heard both albums and they're both great. If you like the cds you love the live act even more! Berzansky and Gonzales are both first rate pickers!! The whole band is first rate. dz

When I scrolled down and read my full name in the subject of this post I thought maybe my mom logged on to the forum and was trying to scold me! Thanks very much for those of you who bought the record. We have been hitting it pretty hard and we are getting ready to roll again on another tour across the nation. Here is a link to the tour dates http://www.haciendabrothers.com/tour_dates/index.html
and there are more that have not been listed yet. If we are coming to your area please come on by and say hi. One of the great things about all this touring is meeting all you steel pickers out there. I will most certainly have Ricky's old Sho Bud with me. Thanks for the Opry link Ricky thats a great clip!
Thanks Colm for ordering the cd after hearing the NPR segment on Dan Penn the producer for the album. That piece turned out to be a good little shot in the arm for the band. Here is a link to that clip if anyone is interested. http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=5638465
While I'm at it here is a link to a myspace site where you can hear a few of the new tunes from the record http://myspace.com/haciendabrothers
Thanks again and I hope to visit with you guys out there.

It was a great pleasure to open for DB in Seattle last year; what a talent! Dave I am so pleased that you are playing two nights in Nashville next month. I am playing on one of the same nights with Jon Langford for the AMA's but I definitely will see you the next night.

Hey thatnks again guys. Grant, congrats on the Sho Bud and I look forward to seeing you soon. Colm, I am almost positive we will be in KC in October or November. If you check on our website haciendabrothers.com now and the I am sure it will pop up in the tour dates pretty soon. Dean I am real sorry I missed you guys up in Washington. Our schedule was just too tight and I couldent make it over there. All the guys said you just picked great (as usual) I just wish I could have heard you guys. Please say hi to Keith and the band for me. We are out on the road for a while and I hope to see some of you out here.

Thought I would bump this thread for everyone out west.

My band opened for the Hacienda Brothers last night in St. Louis, and they are headed to Colorado and then farther out west.

Not only is Dave a great player, the entire band are great players and their show is very entertaining, great range of tunes, dynamics, they have it all.

Check them out, you will not be disappointed.

David, I'll look forward to meeting on your next swing through N. Ca.... and you're absolutley right about Dean's playing... I had the honor to hear him at the Ca. Western Swing HOF meeting last month, a real treat!

Best of luck to you and the band in your upcoming shows.

Dave-won't be too bad a drive for you from the foothills-they will be playing on Dec. 29 at The Palms in Winters.

They play Dec. 30th at Rancho Nicasio in Marin, and on New Year's Eve at the Mystic Theater in Petaluma, with the Tommy Castro Band-who is always great fun.

I'm real tempted by that one, even though it has been seemingly years since my wife and I have ventured out of the house on New Year's Eve.

In my not-so-humble opinion, I think the Haciendas are truly one of the best bands working today. The "Western Soul" thing just plain works!

DB is a fine steeler and a heckuva nice guy!
