Forumite Bob Stone's superb article on the history of the Sacred Steel movement is available online. Bob wrote this for Sing Out! Magazine a few months back. Having documented the style for ten years and produced a number of the seminal Sacred Steel recordings, Bob is the most knowledgeable person to tell the complete story. Check it out.

Thanks Andy. I didn't know the article was posted on the Web. Stacy Phillips also did a "Teach-In" of Aubrey Ghent's "Just a Closer Walk" in that issue. It's available at http://singout.org/ssti481.pdf

Too bad the 10 photos aren't included on the Web version. The magazine is hard to find on newsstands, but you can order it directly at www.singout.org

Sing Out! has been extant for more than 50 years. That must be some kind of record. it is a pleasure to be part of such a publication. And those are my friends Tracy Schwarz and Ginny Hawker on the cover.

Best,

Bob
