OK, Drew posted the YouTube video of Susan's playing, and whether we love it or hate it, her music has CERTAINLY drawn a large response.
I gotta say two things about Susan. First of all, props for not being afraid to take chances. While the YouTube piece may not be musical to some of our ears, we've listened, and I suspect it's the first time a lot of us have been exposed to something like that. Limbs are there to be walked on!
And secondly, Susan is not afraid to go anywhere in the world to perform for causes in which she believes. A lot of us may not agree with those causes, but again, gotta give props for the courage!
And I STILL like 4/4 shuffles better than anything, except sweet tea!
God bless y'all!

Stephen I'm glad you posted this. The issue is not whether or not one likes Susan's music, but whether or not one recognises her for the artist that she is.

It takes a big man to admit they were wrong. I applaud you for your courage in dong so.

My opinion of you just went up a few notches.

Mike, you've got email. I never admitted to being "wrong."

Is it possible that this “piece” from Susan could or should be placed in a category such as SOUND EFFECTS? While it does not fit in the “norm” category and/or might put a stretch on Webster’s definition of music, I do believe there is a viable place in the market for this kind of performance.

From my own experience in doing video editing for several productions, I have had to pay good money for libraries of this type of stuff to create emotion or suspense when a music bed would have been too much for the scene.

The next time I find myself in need of sound effect material, I might turn to my steel rather than my catalogs…THANKS for the idea Susan. Wish I would have thought of it!

Personally, I've always thought Webster was overrated.
