A clip of Charlie Pride, but the steel player is not fully distinguishable. Sounds very much like Lloyd Green and his right hand execution is very similar, but you can't make out his face as he is in the shadows.

With Charley Pride, Lloyd was never in the "shadows".

My guess is Gene O'Neal.

That clip is taken from one of the Hee Haw appearances Charley did. It is Gene O'Neal on steel, he was the road player for Charley for many years. Lloyd was featured on the famous Welk show appearance (featured in the real sense of the word, Lawrence Welk originally thought that Charley and Lloyd were a duo! ) and, of course, on the famous Panther Hall live album. Gene also recorded some tracks with Charley in the studio (he played on the original "Kiss An Angel Good Morning") while Lloyd played on all other CP recordings up to the mid 70s.

Kind Regards, Walter

I love Gene O'Neil's style on these last few Charlie Pride Youtube clips shown here on the forum - it's very much Lloyd but also his own as well. Nice player.
