I thought that album was recorded live in Houston. Wherever it was recorded, it is great. That medley is a wonderful dance tune. I'm sure the dancers were worn out by the time it was over.

The album was originally titled "Live at Dancetown USA" and was recorded in Houston. Now it's out under the tiltle "Johnny Bush and The Bandoleros Live".This recording is a source for listening to some hardcore real country dance hall music with twin fiddles by Jimmy Harris and John Shattenberg and steel by Rick.Kind of a low key guy until he gets behind a steel...then he's out front.

Rick's another one of the really great steel players that live in and play around the San Antonio area.Guys like Tom Detamore,Roger Edgington,Denny Mathis,Don Pack,Kenny Grohman,etc......

Rick Price just played last weekend not two miles from my house at an Eagles Club outside of Buffalo here. Unfortunately I was playing down the block from him and couldn't get to see him. I've heard real good things about him.

I'm listening to Rick Price right now playing Steel(Four In The Morning) on Bobby Flores "Direct From Blanco County". He's one of 6 different Steel Players that's on this Cd. He's also on the "Shoes Of A Fool" cut too....GREAT Player!! Randy Reinhard plays a 37 second break on "Jealous Heart"
Great player too!
If you don't have any of Bobby Flores Cds yet you won't believe how Great these Guys are.

Here's Rick in his Nashville days, playing for Stonewall Jackson 35 years ago.

Rick was one of the first guys I met after I got a steel and he went out of his way to take me upstairs in Sho-Bud to meet Shot and the guys.

As well as a terrific player, Rick's a swell guy and really made me feel welcome in town.

Thanks Rick!

Back in the 70's,I was workin' a job w/ Tommy Overstreet, somewhere in the Buffalo,N.Y. area (I think.) Rick was workin' w/ the house band. I told him he oughta move to Nashville. He asked me if I thought he could really make it down there. I said,"Get yer butt to Nashville!!" It was just a short time later that he moved down here. He wasn't here a week, when he landed the job w/ Stonewall. Just look at 'im today. One of the best steelers in Tx.
