I was wondering if anybody has an email address for Charlie Nagatani's steel player Ryundi (sp?)Ozaki or his steel monster dad? I lost their info in my last computer crash. I was lucky enough to get to play Charlie's Country Gold Festival a few years back, and I wanted to say hey to some of the friends I made there. Any help would be appreciated. BTW, you guys just wouldn't believe how good those Japanese players are!

Hey Rick what year did you play the Country Gold? I played it in 1999 with Wylie and the Wild West. Yes there are good players in Japan and sorry I dont have any emails for them.

Hey Duane...I played there with Heather Myles in 2003. We went over with Heather + 3 (me on bass) At the last minute, we asked Ryundi to help us out on steel. We gave him 2 CD's an hour before soundcheck (we were only gonna do around 10 songs). When it came time to sound check, he had made nashville charts for EVERY song on both CD's plus real notation (not tab) for all the steel parts....in ONE HOUR!!! Then at he gig, he totally NAILED it!

Afterwards when we were telling him how great he did, all he could say in his limited English was "you should hear my dad". Later that night I did get to hear his dad, Mr. Ozaki, who was also a monster.

It was an incredible, but humbling experience for me. Something I'll never forget.
