I just finished a new Acoustic Steel. My brother in law supplied the aged birch wood and cut all the parts while I was visiting he and my sister last fall. On my return home I put it together and it isnow up and running on my Joe McHam site. http://www.houstonsteelman.com/RoyT/
You are welcome to have a look at two pics and listen to Mp3.
My son also got a new Lap Steel 1952 Gibson BR-6 and it is listed under My Guitars now.

Roy,
Wow! I really like the looks and sound, of your new accustic steel! Great sound, very pleasant, nice mellow sound. Any chance you might share your plans? I would really like to build one myself.
One thing about the site though, all of the sound files fire off at once and make a hell of a racket. Maybe someone could set it up differently so they need to be clicked on to play...just a suggestion, otherwise very nice site.
Cheers,
Ron Bednar

Thanks for the feedback Ron. Joe has
done some modifications and the sound
problem should be solved.
If you wish to email me perhaps I can help you with the measurements, scale, bridge set-up and key head.
