Don't want to soak mega bucks in one, any ideas? what do ya have.. I have the origonal pickup in it, but it sounds like a bad mic. Help!!!

I have an original, working Sho~Bud S-10 pickup and a narrow mount George L TPPP... which is a humbucker.
