I started doing that after seeing Jim Loessberg do it. I tried different effects and found that my problem was me, not effects. But, my amp has been on the blink. Reverb keeps cutting out. Paid $150 to get it fixed, played one gig and it still cuts out so I have to use a digital delay. But I like the nice clean sound of just reverb.

I use my original Session 400 always..the effects change depending on what I am playing, digital delay, MXR dyna comp, mxr distortion+, boss tone, emmons sitar bar .
Mike Brown and the staff at Peavey help keep it running. |

Session 400 (has a 15' JBL)with The Steel Guitar Black box and a Delay. That's it.
Pure tone and no clutter. |

yes me too..I found one not long ago in a Pawn shop for $200.
I have been using it and it is clearly the best amp I have ever played thru for Steel...
Totally different tonality than the Nashville series of amps..
way better in my view, for my tastes....
Mine is currently on the work bench for filter cap replacement..
I have recently found another one and am thinking about getting that one as well..
My Session has a BW 1501..and the primary effect I use are a slap delay from a Peavey Profex..I also use a Boss Blues driver now and then as well....
by the way..real loud and very clean...
Mine is a '78....

I have two I've had for over 20 years (75 and 76 models) and still use them most all of the time. So far it's the best amp I've found and you can't wear them out. |

Hey Paul!
Just a quick "hey" and a little input on your question...I am not currently playing through a Session, but I would have no reservations about using one, even with all the other good amps out there. Got my first one in the 70's, but it succumbed to the "Webb" thing at the time. I do use a "Vegas" that Kenosha Music Center practically paid me to take off their hands(with a JBL E-130 retrofit from a Randall Steelman). Also, use a '65 Twin Custom 15( groove-tubed ), always wanted a "Vibrosonic Reverb" back then, finally satisfied the urge. Wouldn't it be NICE to have all our discards available for the "picking"??? Good to hear from you...play good now!
