Saw Dwight and his band smokin' up quite a jam on late night TV last night (not sure of the show). There in the back was a nice-looking Sho~Bud manned by a guy who was doubling on tambourine. Great player and sound - who was it? |

It's Josh Grange out there in the trenches. I played steel on the new LP, but I'm staying home these days. |

No, Pete is not working with Dwight anymore. Lately he's been busy with Moot Davis and with other artists that he has on his label, Little Dog Records. [This message was edited by Skip Edwards on 04 May 2006 at 11:00 AM.] |

That song they did reminded me a little bit of the Wanda Jackson song "I Gotta Know" Where it's goes from a rock vibe into straight Cow-ntry. I also seem to remember a Wille Nelson version of Whiskey River that did something like that. Cool concept. Dwight is one slick dude!! |

He used our local man in Branson, Tom Brumely, "Dixie" and maybe others I'm not aware of. |

Gary Morse laid down some great steel on Dwight Yoakam's cover of "I Want You to Want Me". |

Dwight's recording of "Johnson's Love" some years back was full of steel start to finish. Sorry, I don't know who the steeler was but he did an excellent job. |

That record he put out in 1999 or 2000, called "Tomorrow's Sounds Today" has steel on just about every track. Gary Morse does an awesome job on that album. If you don't have that record, I highly recommend it.
Cheers!

Hey, Skipper -- whas up? Skip was one of the first musicians I met when I came to LA 25 years ago. Funny to still be hacking around after all these years, isn't it, Skip? Boo |
