Can anyone tell me who played steel on BD's recording.A buddy has ask me to do the steel on his home recording.No problem there,but we were wondering who was on the original.Tried a search but got nothing.

OK, Thanks for the info friends.After getting the heads-up on Pete Drake I found a site that said yes it was PD that played on the song. He didn't say if it was E9th or C6th,but it dosen't matter.Ive got it nailed on E9th.Thanks again..PJ

Definitely E9. Here's two ways I fake it:

Progression: A, C#m, G, Em

5th fret open, 5th fret drop the E's....slide down.....3rd fret open, 3rd fret drop the E's. Strings 4, 5, 6.

Or 10 fret AB pedals, 10th Fret A pedal....slide down......8th fret AB, 8th fret A. Strings 5, 6, 8.

Engage/disengage pedals and levers to taste.

This will give you a somewhat reasonable facsimile of that famous reverb-drenched intro.
