Just saw the new Denzil Washington flick this afternoon "Man on Fire". In one scene he buys a Linda Rondstat record and listens to it in his room. It was "Blue Bayou", and Dan's entire solo is played with no dialogue over it--just that wonderful solo floating through the theatre big time. Boy, Dan sure nailed that one, what a delight to hear it that way  . Great solo by one of the nicest guys I have ever worked with... |

Thanks John for that heads-up. Knowing this,
is enough to make me see the flic.
And not at home on my TV either, when it
comes out to rent, but in a quality movie theatre.
One of my favorite all-time solos. Actually thought it was the Big E for a long time, until I finally got hold of the album and saw the credits. Wow! Just excellent

| I sat behind and played the Sho-Bud that Blue Bayou was recorded on last month while visiting Dan in Nashville. He is full of California good vibes and can still be heard on many of today's top fourty recordings. He is all over Janis Ian's new album on both Dobro and steel. | I had the honor of buying Dan's Sho-Bud afew years back as my first guitar. He used it on some demos and on some recorded material. What a nice guy to talk to, and as a kid growing up in the seventies, it was an honor. A friend of mine recently picked up and album he did called 'Ronan'(sp)with Waddy Wachtel. I was really impressed with his work on Willie's recent live album. If you're out there Dan, Hello from New Jersey. Craig |

Dan is one of the nicest, most humble human beings on the planet. I've had the pleasure of playing on a few sessions with him over the years and he always plays the absolute perfect part for the song. He's also a killer guitar player!
