While reading Andy Volk's excellent book on lap steel for the third time I read what John Ely left as a parting piece of advice in his interview with Andy. Mr. Ely recommended finding a steel guitar teacher if you are a novice so you don't develop, and continue, using incorrect techniques. I was finally able to get some lessons with someone locally and he has been a great help in what John stated as far as using the correct tools and techniques. Just thought I'd pass it along for any other novices like myself that can benefit from good advice. Thanks Andy and John
