Steel Guitars of North County, it was nice to meet you and spend a little time with you last week Jim. You have a great store and I had a blast. Take care my new friend. To all you other steelers; if you in the area of Oceanside, CA stop by and see Jim.

Jim will no doubt feel obliged to post about what a pleasure it is to have you around, Rick, but I'm going to write him and ask him "no, really, you can tell me...."
Man, it sure would be nice to have something/someone like that around here. Something between a candy/steel store, a clubhouse, man, it's an exciting thought. |

If I lived closer I would be pestering him also.
As it is I've got to wait until my steel gets a bad case of "Tinkeritis" before I can find time to drive down to his shop. lol..

Steel players in our area of So Cal can consider ourselves lucky to have Jim nearby. He has taken on the great task of teaching me this great instrument. He has also helped me get into the right equipment. Jim is always helpful and willing to hang out and just chat. Thanks again Jim... |

Though we have never met face to face, yet,
Jim was a great help to me in getting my S-14 from him.
I have been busy as a 1 armed paperhanger, lately,
but want to AGAIN thank Jim for all his help
and understanding, about this world crossing purchase.
I have had one or two forumites refuse to sell items to me over the last few years here ;
out of country sale,
apparent possible suspicions of fraud from france,
if it's damaged, returns being problematic,
jingoism or general laziness....
Sorry, but these were apparent issues for a tiny minority.
Well Jim didn't blink an eye,
you want a steel ok,
Paypal me a deposit and I will hold it till
you can finish the transaction.
Well I changed countries, even changed continents,
The above relocation expenses put it behind schedule too,
not a problem for Jim ; where do you want it shipped to.
Ohh, you need one or two parts I didn't notice were worn ;
me bad, oops, I'll send them out now.
Jim Palenscar, a credit to the steel community. IMHO.

Once again- thanks to all of you. I've never met a steel player that I didn't like- we are a small community that seems to look out for each other. It's a real pleasure to have folks drop in and share conversation and playing. Rick is a great help as frequently he comes in and helps 'splain stuff to folks who come by wanting to know about steel guitars or lessons, etc- and just a good guy in general with a wealth of information to share. In over a year I've only been burned once by sending stuff out before payment came in and that was only for $30. to a guy in Utah. I'd almost rather be burned than have to live a life of mistrust(that obviously has its limits . Thanks again to all of you for giving me the opportunity to help- I owe you. |

Steel Guitars Of North County is a steel guitar players "dream store", and most importantly, it's an extension of the positive attitude, personality, honor and dignity of my dear friend Jim.
Congratulations Jim on the first anniversary of your steel guitar business. Having the privilege of being there for your opening was a marvelous experience I'll never forget. |

Hey David....I'm also up for a party with Jim and all the gang. Remember our party last year when JayDee and I had an eating contest and you were the judge. I hate to brag that I won, but it's worth bragging about when I can honestly say I outdone JayDee at anything. Next time we're all together it will be you against me, and JayDee can be the judge.
Sure enjoyed the set you, JayDee and I played with Rick Schmidt playing guitar(who is an incredible steel player) and his great band. Thanks to all for the memories. |
