Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I seem to remember hearing Gary Carpenter playing with Connie on the GOO recently. |

Gary Carter I think is his last name. Super player. I heard him on 650AM the other night with Connie. Of course, the one she had before him was great also. Jack Smith. Someone correct me if I'm wrong here but I think that's right. |

I stand corrected. I heard the name through the static on the truck radio late one Sat. nite. Guess I got it wrong. |

Jerry, I wouldn't have known that he was currently playing for Connie Smith, but Charlie had just told me about it, then like others, I heard him on the Saturday night portion of the "Opry". Charlie told me that Gary is glad not being on the road as much and having more time for studio sessions, home, etc. |

Gary's been around town for a long time and has played with a lot of folks, including many years with Randy Travis (before Steve Hinson). |
