Does anyone know who played steel on the Jayhawks first album? It's a great record but pretty hard to come by.
Thanks! |

A "Greg Leese" is credited on 1994's "Tomorrow The Green Grass". I wonder if they meant Greg Leisz....if so, it's a pretty bad misspelling.
I'm not sure if this is their first album, but it's the one that put them on the map........great record.

What is the title of the album you are asking about, I believe they have records going back to 1989. I don't think there was any steel on the earliest records though.

I don't know what the first album is called. It's hard to find. My friend has a copy that I get to hear every now and again. I think "Blue Earth" is their second album. I don't remember hearing any steel on it. Thier first album has lots of great steel guitar on it. I just heard it yesterday and I was quite impressed. |

Blue Earth was the first one that I was aware of... Is this earlier one a reissue?!?!? |

Hi Mike... I wish someone would reissue it! I don't know why it hasn't been. I think it would sell plenty. It really is a good album.
Thank you Frode... I'll check that out.
Here's something!

Cal Hand. Yes. He had a great solo record out. I have it on vinyl, someday I'll put it into ProTools and burn a Cd. He also played on some Leo Kottke records. Very original player.
Rock on... |
