I would like to know if I could get up with Ray or his manager. An old time steel player from calif.is living in the area where Ray will be preforming for the Hank Williams tribute June 3rd in Georgina Alabama. Ray wanted him to play for him back in the 60's or 70's but due to legial matters he could not. He will be open for this date if Ray needs a steel player for that show. His name is (J. G. O'Rafferty). He has done studio work, played with the group Chicago ,and others. If you can give me info on this please email me paulen@hotmail.com . Thank you:

Ray already has one of the finest steel players around with quite an impressive resume long as a swan's neck . His name is Mike Cass and he has no legal issues that I'm aware of.

Sorry guys, I was not trying to take anyones job.Yes Mike is a great player.Ray had used another friend of mine( Jimmy Powell) in Florida when he played there 3 or 4 years ago, so I though if he was needing someone to fillin again then J.G. would be here. No harm intended .Thanks.

Thanks Mike. I do plan to be there and I do hope to see you. Tom and Herb, The legal issue is James G. O'Rafferty sold a car to a man, before the papers transfered the mans son took the car and side swiped 7or8 new cars on a back street waiting to be serviced. J.G. was cleared of all charges but put his career on hold for about 8 months to a year. Herb I think you know James G. from Calif. Thanks for your eyes guys. Hope to see you some day.

Yeah, I knew James in California back in the late 60's, when he played with Don Lee. He lived in Newhall or Simi Valley as I recall. Played a custom Sho-Bud very well and was an excellent singer also. We hooked back up by email a few years ago, after he moved back east. Tell him "hey" for me.
