Why not have some fun, listen to some good music and take a trip down memory lane?
As of today, I will start to put a new MP3 file on the website
www.austriansteelguitar.at.tf
every week, for your listening pleasure, but also for your expertise, as I won't tell who the singer and the steel player are (info will come the following week, but I am sure, you'll all know!). It's a journey back to different times, different styles and different singers/players.
On the website, just go to the "Sounds" page, scroll down a little bit and have fun! Guesses and answers welcome, but no price to win!
Kind Regards, Walter

I hope this is the begging not the end of your clips. This is fun and I hope those who know will roll with the flow and let us know.

Never heard this song before but it sounds like Little Roy Wiggins and maybe Hawkshaw Hankins. |

When he sang the word "love" it had a hint of Ferlin Husky but the recording sound very old so is probably not. Maybe somebody who influenced Husky. I guess Floyd Tillman--just a guess.
Just noticed it was in stereo![This message was edited by Bill Hatcher on 12 February 2006 at 08:27 PM.] |

I believe that is Cowboy Copas, "The Beginning and the End". The steel player sounds like Jerry Byrd to me.
Actually, I have an old Copas LP with this on it. On this old Hilltop LP, it's labeled "The Beginning of the End".
Great clip - got me to dig out my Copas LPs. Thanks, Walter.[This message was edited by Dave Mudgett on 12 February 2006 at 07:33 PM.] |

Guess I was wrong then, I sent Walter an email guessing Moon Mulligan and Little Roy Wiggins.

Hey thanks so much for that tribute to Mr. Rugg. Please keep posting those MP3's and sharing that sweet music, that's what this site is all about. |
