Tim... I recorded an album (or part) with Buck and Susan in Buck’s Bakersfield studio while living in LA. If Jerry thought it was me then it’s a strong possibility that it was.

Allmusic simply utilises sleeve notes, and sleeve notes are quite often far from a definative list on who played on album sessions.
Probably featured Buddy and Jerry on various tracks, or perhaps Buddy on just one.
Buck seemed to have recorded a fair amount of material during his dates, which he'd issue over the following year or two.

| I found two albums I recorded in Bakersfield. One was We’re Gonna Get Together with Buck and Susan, and Boot Hill with Buck’s band. Neither had Looking Back To See on it so it may have been Jay Dee, Bill; especially if it was a smokin’ track. When it comes to fast E9 country tracks, I’m a non smoker. |

Hi All, and Buddy,
I got an email today telling me about this thread. I, like Buddy went to my album collection today, and it was indeed me playing on "Looking Back to See", which I stated earlier might have been Buddy. Buddy played the "killer" modulation on "Were Gonna Get Together" on that same album. I joined the band in April of 1972, which was half way between this album being recorded. I was playing a Sho-Bud at the time, which allowed me to get more of a Mooney tone. I later switched to Buddy's last name after about a year into the job thanks to JayDee.
James, since you asked, or sort of, I recorded all the singles and albums Susan released on Capital after her first Capital album, which was LA International Airport.I
did not record on her last album, which she recorded in Nashville. All in all, it was about 10 with her to the best I can remember.
As Jason stated, we didn't get liner note credits back then.

Buddy,
I remember having an album of Buck with you on steel and it was a live cut, which may have been titled "Cajun Steel" or something cajun, anyway buck says "And here is BUDDY EMMONS! on steel" or words to that effect, you could hear the pride in his voice as he announced your name, wish I could find that record. I had the pleasure of working with Susan Raye many times in the late 70s. Backing her up at fairs and night clubs, even one memorable two week stint at The Nugget in Sparks Nevada. It was incumbent upon me to learn all those hot licks. Now I know who to thank for the inspiration.
