"Tall, Tall Trees" was also recorded by Alan Jackson in 1995 or 1996. Alan's version featured Paul Franklin, but I'm sure Buddy played on George's version. Brett, Emmons S-10, Morrell lapsteel, GFI Ultra D-10 |

There is also a version by Roger Miller(the guy that wrote the song), I don't remember if it had steel on it. I think it did, but I haven't heard it in years. |

John
It's on the George Jones "Cup of Loneliness" box set (original version) with Emmons on steel (killer solo)
and
Roger Miller's "A Trip In the Country"LP (not on CD as far as I know) with Emmons again on steel with yet another killer solo (if i'm remembering right)
I'll try to dig up the Roger Miller version ...
Call me John, I'll hook ya up I owe ya for that Nancy Sinatra... |

Most, if not all of Roger Miller's "Trip in the Country" was included on a CD of his on Mercury called "Country Tunesmith"... including "Tall Tall Trees". Lots of classic Emmons on the CD, and great songs... |

Dave, thanks for the concert CD..That's definitely an older version..What I heard at Cracker Barrel might have been from "Trip in the Country"...Really jazzy C6 break ,similar to BE's ride on "Jackson" from the Nancy Sinatra "My Way" album..I believe the two were recorded about same time (I think when BE was in LA!)
