I'm a rookie that has a Carter Starter. The picks that came with it are turning my fingers green.

Anyone ever hear of such a thing?

Mine do that. I've been playing about 4 years, and only have ONE set of picks that I use. They are old as the hills, but they are comfortable. Anyhow, you get used to the green fingers. After washing your hands, all the evidence is gone.

Are the picks brass? If so you might
try and polish them up. I use chrome
plated picks by BJ'S.
Best wishes.

They are silver in color and they say SteelGuitar.com on them. I don't think they're brass.

hello dave, i think they have some plated picks i dont' know i have never had my fingers turn green on me yet. but it might be the acid in your body that does that too. it reminds me of the first ring i bought for a girl, she had to put yarn on it to keep it from turning her finger green too. doc

I use Dunlops and they turn my fingers green if I wear them for a few hours. Which almost never happens.

I had a couple of pair that would turn my fingers green.I want to think they were the Newman picks.Could have been Nationals.I've been using Kysers for the last 8 or 10 years. No more green fingers.

I used to use Nationals and they would turn my fingers a greenish-black color. I always assumed it was the reaction of my acidy sweat and the nickel in the picks.
