I know some of you steelers out there play fiddle as well as steel. Someone asked me what is the tuning on one. I never tried to play one so I don't have a clue. Is the fiddle tuned the same as a bass ~ E-A-D-G?

Thanks for any help.

Darn. And here I thought this thread was going to be about the pedal steel guitar's equivalent to Jimmy Page...

Has anybody tried that on a PSG, anyways? I'll bet it sounds terrible!

Yes, there is a picture of Gary Morse bowing a PSG in an circa 1980 Pedal Steel Guitarist mag.

He was into avent garde music at the time.

Gary Morse played in a band called "Phantom Herd"in the early 80's in Southern California and used the violin bow on at least one song that I can remember. He had very good control of it,and it sounded great,I always wanted to ask him if the rosin was a problem.
