Tom,
Lloyd took my place in a the JJ Gage band in Fresno in 1976. I saw him on Christmas eve 1976 at a little club right after I left the band and I sat out in the audience and watched him back the late Johnny Russel who was setting in with the JJ Gage band that nite. Great guy and picker.
Take care Tom.

If he did a cd of the other Lloyd's music, he could call it "Brown Plays Green."

I don't know Lloyd, but I wasn't even born when Lloyd took Bill's place with the Gage's in 1976. Maybe ask Jim Baron?? I may see Paul Dobbs on Saturday, I'll ask him.

Ben,
If you see Paul Dobbs, ask him to play Buds Bounce on C6th for you and say hello to him from Bill Bailey. Paul IMHO is one of the best players and people on the planet.

Tom,
being from Sacramento did you ever meet a bass player named Rudy Ybarra? Rudy had a brother who played steel there abouts but I never got to meet him. There is more to this story. Maybe later.

I've actually spent very little time here. I lived in my house in East Sac from 2000 --20002 and just got back this summer. Great town, except there is hardly any C&W or even alt. country. Lots and lots of blues...

Bill, I wholehartedly agree with you about Dobber. He was my first real exposure to steel, and one of the biggest reasons I took it up.

Mike, sorry I missed you guys on Friday.
