Is there anybody out there interested in some brand new fretboards for a 24.5" Fender Stringmaster? I'm restoring a very hacked up and thrashed but great sounding 1955 24.5" T-8 that's already been refinished once etc and you know how those fretboards get scratched up and dented from low flyin fingerpicks and other things over the decades. I found a silkscreen/metal shop who can make and has made dead on fretboard replicas. I've seen their work and it's great. It's an expensive proposition though, but since it's cheaper to get a dozen made than just the three I need,I was wondering if there was anybody out there looking for such a thing as well. If I sell the extra nine fretboards I'd need to get $60 each to cover costs and kick Bobby Lee his due. I'm guessing they are probably the same exact part for a 24.5" Fender 400/1000 pedal guitar and my friend Herb Steiner confirms that. I know some guys hate to mess with a classic piece but some guitars are just too far gone and need total restoration or sometimes just one messed up part keeps the guitar from being cherry. I'm not trying to get into the fretboard business - just break even on my project. This seems like a rare opportunity to pick up a part you just can't find any other way.I'm loath to go the E-Bay route cause I hate the hassle and drama and I'd rather just go straight to my steel playin brethern w/a fixed price. BTW, 22.5" and/or 26" scales could also happen if there was enough interest to be worth the hassle. Anybody??

I'd be interested. Now if someone could come up with making those tuning pans.

It would appear that there is a market but what price are the buyers prepared to pay....
this e-bay auction doesn't seem to be getting much attention... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33039&item=370 5890813&ssPageName=STRK:MEBWA:IT

Sorry to tell you ...BUT... the Fender 1000 and 400 (with the individual Roller Bridges) were 23" scale..
But your idea is very good and if I can "Drum up" some trade over here for you, I will.

Yeah I know that - I got one. But the early ones w/the fixed bridge - the vast majority are 24.5".
