It's hard to believe, but after seeing Sharon Denny, Reece Anderson, L.T. Zinn, Margarie Mays and others during the Hawaiian Show. . . .then Cindy Cashdollar playing with Herb Remmington at the ISGC, my wife now wants to start learning to play on my Lap Steel. She's always loved Hawaiian music, so I think some of the convention players must have had an influence on her. I'm already teaching her to play "Coconut Grove". NR

I have been teaching my "goose" for the past year. It's slow-going, but she enjoys it nevertheless. She has a new appreciation for the greats like Jerry, Dick, Andy, et al whom previously were just "musicians doing their thing". She also now fully appreciates playing the steel guitar is not just a matter of sliding a bar up and down the strings!

Nick,

She really wants you to start playing the Lap Steel. When the band quits at 2 AM. The Lap Steeler is out the door by 2:01. The pedal steeler and the drummer are there until 3.

p.s., thanks for stopping by the Hawaiian Room.
