Once again Gary has gone AWOL. I really hate putting this in a public forum but don't know what else to do. Gary, I want you to return the money I advanced you for the amp case. You have failed to perform as promised and having seen the guitar case I'm no longer interested in having it.
If anyone knows Gary's whereabouts and can help me get this message to him I'd be grateful. It's one thing to take someone's money and be slow in performing, but when a man won't even talk to you, well, I think the word is-I'll stop now in the interest of giving Gary the benefit of the doubt one more time.
Once again Gary,
Please do the right thing,
Byron

I believe Gary was making guitar cases for one of the steel guitar companies. You might do a search on the Forum to see if you can find out which company it is (was?) and contact them.

Byron, do a search in "Events and Announcements," using GARYPHILLIPS. All caps, no spaces. You'll find a post dated May 16, 2005, called "taking some time off." Gary talks about his personal problems, and his intent to build cases for Desert Rose steel guitars. You might reach him through Desert Rose, too.
Gary has called me on numerous occaisions, and we've enjoyed talking. Byron is one of mt oldest Forum friends. I've heard some stuff about Gary's cases before---Byron, I hope you and Gary can resolve this. Gary, DO THE RIGHT THING! |

Lets all take a deep breath. We need to be be careful about what we say. There is no reason to jump to conclusions. There may be a very logical reason for a delay or slow response. I have found it is better to err on the side of caution, than to hastily assume. I know how easy it is to jump in and dogpile. But, please remember that someones good name is at stake, and Gary does have a good name. He has been here quite a while.Lets keep Gary in our prayers. We really don't know what is going on in his life.

Stephen, thanks so much, great to hear from you. Curt, I certainly appreciate what you are saying and I have been patient and am willing to give Gary the "benefit of the doubt" however, when a guy won't talk to you, it is difficult not to start to draw conclusions. As far a Gary having a "good name" here, I can tell you that this is open to question. Gary, are you listening?

Byron, I thought I had Gary's phone number here somewhere. I'll keep looking, and if I find it, I'll post it here. But the phone may have been in his wife's name .. |

I would like to believe all will turn out ok and Gary will surface and pay up the moneys he owes the people who trusted him. I paid Gary $575.00 last December for A rack case and 2 speakers cabinets. He said I would have them by January 15th. I received the Rack case in June. But as yet to get the 2 speaker Cabinets. I would call him and each time he said they would ship the next week but nothing happened. I cannot get in touch with him anyway I try. He want return calls or email me. Clyde |

I placed a lot of trust in Gary just to give him all the money for the items I ordered in advance rather than a deposit. I have taken so many deep breaths over this I am about out of breath. I would have thought he would at least reply to me and the other people he owes money or items. Clyde

Erv. Have you been waiting as long as January for your Rack case?

Clyde,
Yes, it has been quite a while ago. I'll see if I can find the date I ordered the case. I know he was running a 20% off special when I ordered.

I spoke with Gary today and would like to update everyone having business deals with him.
Gary will come through on any merchandise ordered, he asked me to pass that promise on to you, and I believe him. He has temporarily relocated to a friend's home in Illinois, more to clear his head than anything, and has his tools and will continue production.
Gary is a warm Christian man who is overwhelmed and overstressed through a trying series of life events the past couple of years. 2 years ago his brother died. Last year his marriage ended. A couple of months ago his Dad died. He's been on a tough ride, his faith is strong, but he's really feeling challenged by life and the Lord.
Please just have a little more patience for a good guy trying to get his feet back on the ground, and keep him in your prayers.

Gary Phillips still has an active account here.
Libraries and many other places have Internet access.
Setbacks are to be expected in life, and I wish him well, but as the original post said:
quote:
" but when a man won't even talk to you, well"...
This reminds me of other situations we've had here. |
