Hi guys!

Just bought Dale's "Heeah" yesterday and I love it! Lotsa shuffles and truckin' songs, just what you would expect! Two downers - in my mind - and one song that started like a swamp song and all the time I was waiting for Tony Joe White to start singing,ha. Turned out to be another truckin' song, though,ha.
Never had the pleasure to hear Don Don Pawlak play before and now that I have,I have got to admit I have missed a lot! Goes without saying, all the other guys know what they're doing, too. Nice stuff!

Best wishes,Andy.

Ps. Ricky: greetings from Finland.

Don Pawlack is one of my favorite players. I used to watch him up here in Seattle all the time. A very underrated player IMHO. I got to catch up with him when I was down in Austin last spring, he is a very friendly quick-witted guy who loves to talk steel guitar. It's great to see a local/Seattle player doing so well in the "big leagues"!

Robbie I'm really sorry you misunderstood what I was trying to say.I think[my opinion only, every one has a right to disagree].this socalled country pop sucks. The point I was trying to make is that Dale Wateson is the REAL DEAL .To me he is the greatest honky tonk and ballard singer living today!!Again I'm sorry I didn't make myself clear on what I was trying to convey. I promote Dale Watson consistently. Again I was in no way comparing him with this G A C crap. The complete opposite. That what I meant by DALE RULES.Sorry I upset you.Respectively yours.Charles Davidson.

Charles,I'm not upset at all. I thought that maybe I was missing something here. I figured that you MUST be referring to some other Dale Watson. My mistake. However, I completely agree with you on all counts. I can't STAND any of the crap that the powers that be are trying to pass off as country music.

Dale is one of the last, if not the last true country artists (not counting the legends of course) working today. Were on the same page brother.... NO prob.

Our very own Sho Bud guru Ricky Davis has toured and recored with Dale Watson--I even met RD once when Dale played this God forsaken no-country-music-havin' city of Columbus, Ohio. Guess you could say I knew him before I met him here on SGF. I still have photos of that show--good stuff!

I've seen Dale a few times and he truly has to be one of the most generous great performers I've ever seen. I was most impressed that someone who writes and records so much original material is just as happy to play a request yelled out from the audience! Talk about bein an entertainer---he's there to play whatever keeps the people dancin' or listenin'! First time he played for nearly two hours then took a break--only to come back and play MORE!

They just don't grow performers like this these days---he's one of the good ones!!

J.W. I agree with you all the way,If there was a real top twenty country count down unlike G.A.C[Great American Crap].Dale Watson would always be at the top.He is the best no doubt about it.I try to promote him and turn as many people on to him as I can. All you guys that really love steel guitar should support him also. The steel is a BIG,BIG,BIG,part of his music.DALE RULES!!!

Hi,guys - again!

Listenin' to KSEY while I'm writing this...

Yep;Dale rules! I can STILL remember when he was in Finland for the first time and the guys at the local record shop asked me to bring my acoustic guitar for the event. I promised to do that, but just when we were heading there, maybe (?) I thought that my Fender Malibu - made in Santa Ana,California - was at too risk because of the crowd,ha! Anyhow, and mostle because my better half - Arja - took it all on video,I still think it's one of the biggest - and many - mistakes I have done in my life! However,I have got an autographed photo of Dale with "big Texas howdy to Andy" and when I showed that to Dale,he said "you're the tallest Andy I've ever seen". Dale's not a tall comparing to a guy just as tall as Trace Adkins, but I just couldn't tell him "even in Texas?",ha.Again.

Anyhow, all you guys, friends of the best instrument there ever was - have a very nice weekend. It's 11.20 PM local time and I'm going to bed now!

Best wishes.Andy.

Ps. Those "greetings to Ricky from Finland" were,of course,to Ricky Davis! Goes without saying I miss his nice e-mails every day...

Dale Watson has got to be the number one Country Singer around today, and his band is absolutely the best I have ever heard. Don Pawlok is incredible...I did not know about the new alblum but plan to order it in a few minutes...I have all the rest...Dale Watson and the Lonestars are in a class by themselves..

I saw Dale last year in Phoenix. for starters, the band was just great. I talked to Dale when he was loading in and he was just as gracious as could be. He signed a few cd covers for me. talked a little music and he seemed genuinely interested in what I had to say. As well as the other folks who talked with him. He even had a few beverages with the crowd as they steadily came up the aisle. And of course the band helped with that. When I hollered out a request for Sweet Jessie Brown he put a little extra emotion and heart in it and I knew he meant it. What a talent. My girlfriend does'nt even like country music much and I even got her to admit it was a hell of a show by a hell of a guy. I won't miss one of his concerts again. And I'm planning a Texas trip to see Dale and the boys later this year. I don't think you will see this kind of performance or this kind of person at any Kenny Chesney show etc..... Course you won't hear any country music there either. Sorry.
