The saturday night opry had Tommy backing Gene Watson. I
I must say, "Tommy you sounded marvelous"!
It's unfortunate Rodney Crowell didn't have you backing him on "She's Crazy For Leaving"!
Love ya & I hope to see ya in St.Louis!

But it sure burnt me a new one, when GAC had a commercial, and an inaudible interview, while Gene was singing "Farewell Party!" I'd have loved to have heard Tommy on that one!! |

While that interview was going on, all I heard was Gene and Tommy on "Farewell Party"! |

The Opry TV sound crew did it's usual thing and wasn't there(?) when the interview was going on. I am amazed at how often they make obvious errors, but I tolerate it to hear some good pickin' from Tommy and occasionally some other steelers as well. It was good to see and hear Lloyd on there with Steve Warriner as well. |

The SOUND CREW was probably there..
it's the show Producer that decides what gets AIRED not the Sound Crew..I doubt they ever even know whats actually being shown on the pixels...
According to my two band pals, Steve played "Roadhouse " during commercial break and Loyd smoked........ [This message was edited by Tony Prior on 08 August 2005 at 08:30 AM.] |

Joe, not to detract from the subject of "Tommy" but, according to the Koch Record web-site, Gene's new CD is available at Tower Records and Media Play. |

Hey Gregg, I got my copy at Wal Mart. I know everybody has a WalMart nearby. I liked the twin stuff on 14 carat mind. Who was that lead player? |

Here, here Charles. I can't even hear Tommy most of the time because for some reason the sound guys can't get the mix right and all I can hear is the singer, the telecaster, and sometimes the fiddle.

I cannot get GAC and I guess I am better off. I used to watch the Grand Ole Opry every Saturday night and see Weldon Myrick in the camera shot and even got to hear him play. Regardless of who is running the show now, it is just downright pitiful. Imagine going and paying your hard earned money to get in and have to hear the mix in person. To me the Opry of today is not so Grand. The bad thing that crosses my mind is to have such a talented steel player like Tommy White on staff and not be able to hear him half of the time. When is all this going to end? |
