Years ago a friend treated me to a concert at the Paramount Theater in Seattle that featured the huge band of "King Sunny Ade".
It was a really high energy spirit filled show. To my great surprise there was a pedal steel in the group. The player wore the same colorful robes as the other members and was barefoot. He was up and down and all over the place and played some totally unique things on steel. Has anyone seen this act too?

John,I recall seeing a TV show many years ago, and there was a Nigerian band on stage, and a guy playing an Emmons pedal steel. I wonder did he buy it on Ebay with phoney money orders...........anyway, they were playing traditional African music, so it proves the point that steel guitar can be used in all forms of music..........Ted
