I had the best time watching this show last night. Shannon has an amazing voice, and Dave plays pedal steel like no other.
And Dave couldn't be a nicer guy. I talked to him for about 10-15 minutes about his other project "3now4", working with Daniel Lanois on one of the Brian Blade records, and his wide variety of bars. Besides his normal bar he had an assortment of other items he used during the night.
They only have one show left on this tour (tonight in Houston) but hopefully this same group will go out again soon. |

I knew Dave Easley when he used to come out to many of the gigs my band played in central Illinois in the late 70's and early 80's. What a nice, nice guy. I think he is from Bloomington. I remember he had such an intense interest in steel. I am glad to hear he's doing great things.

I was lucky enough to see the show in Austin at Stubbs. Shannon McNally really impressed me as did David Easley. Good show!

If you like Jazz, you should check out the 3NOW4 cd's that bOb is selling on the forum. T.C., Dave grew up in Champaign. I've known him since high school. You should hear him these days, he is an extraordinary musician, one of the most innovative Steel players out there these days. I can't wait to hear what he sounds like in this new band. |
