I've been checking out Jo Stafford these days and was wondering who did had the steel chair on her recording of the Tennessee Waltz ?

I love her singing.

Jo Stafford?? I remember "Tn.Waltz" by Patti Page, but I didn't know J.S. recorded it. Where'd ya find it?

BTW,if y'all wanna hear some REAL FUNNY s--t,
check out ANYTHING by "Jonathan & Darlene Edwards",a/k/a/ Jo Stafford,& her husband,Paul Weston! You will,ABSOLUTELY pee your pants from laughin'!!
She,also, recorded some comedy stuff for Capitol Recs. under the pseudonym,"Cinderella G. Stump".

Smiley-You remember too, eh? We are definitely showing our age.I don't remember Jo having any records with steel guitar.

...Jo Stafford was one of my favorite singers in the old days. I had more than one, of course...al

Bob:

I don't know about that particular song since I haven't heard it in ages, but Speedy recorded with Jo on some songs and also with Red Ingle on songs where Jo was the vocalist.

Speedy once sent me a cassette containing pop recordings that he had played on, but I'll be damned if I can find it right now.

He certainly could play it straight without the pyrotechnics when required, but I don't know if I could then pick him out.

As a young teen, I fell in love with JS's version of "You Belong To Me" and many of her records which are gathering dust somewhere in storage (another fav was "Shrimp Boats Are Coming.")
