Just recieved Al Svenddal's new "Silver Strings" steel guitar gospel CD. It was a breath of fresh air in the arrangements and his execution is excellent. There are three creative originals that I so enjoyed.

I don't recommend a lot of steel guitar CD's but Al did a superb perfomance. The CD's are $15 and the sound trax CD is only $10 and that includes shipping! Call Al @ 651.634.0502 or email gospelsteeler@aol.com

By the way, his Williams Steel sounds great!

Say Bill, I second those comments. I also have Albert's CD and it is a great one. I may be a little prejudice though, as Albert was my first instructor in Minnesota, and he is my wife's favorite player, but don't tell the other players in Minnesota.

He is a great person, as well as a great player. Everyone should own a copy of this CD, and get his other material as well. Give Ol' Albert a call, and do yourself a favor by adding this CD to your collection.

I've known Al (Albert -- he prefers to be called AL now)for many years and I was so proud of his playing and arrangements.

As I said his Williams Steel Guitar sounds great...Bill Rudolf makes one of the greatest built and sounding steel anywhere.

Maybe Al can share his tuning etc...

The first time I heard Albert play was at Waterloo this year. Was amazed at his playing skills, and entertainer ability.
I would rate him as good as many of the big name players. Surpised his name is not mentioned more often around here.

Yes, she sure did!
BTW, have you ever heard his mama play? She can play just about any instrument.
I can see where Albert's talent comes from.

Erv,
Yes, we used to listen to his mama (BEE BEE), play at the Aragon Bar here in Albert Lea many years ago! A great talent, I wonder if she is still playing?

Albert called me from Min. Weeks ago and said he'd send me a copy of the "Silver Strings" CD, and I'd send him a check for $15.00 when I received it. (we did it that way with his first CD and it worked out fine.)I have yet to receive the CD, so Albert, if you sent it, I didn't get it. I'm not ripping you off.

Thanks for all the kind comments everyone. I am back on the forum after being off-line for awhile. I now have a good laptop and will be checking the forum more often.

L.A. I did send the CD out several weeks ago so it must have gotten a wrong address or something. I will send a new one out right away, Sorry bout that.

By the way, I love my new Willy. "Al" Svenddal

In response to Neil's posting about BeeBee, Al's mom, she and his dad Rick are traveling missionaries to many of the Indian reservations, here and in Canada. They are quite busy each year, and both are great musicians and people. I am sure that if you are interested, Al can provide an e-mail address for them, and a web site to catch up on their travels.

I am a big fan of Al's playing. I heard him play for the first time about 10 years ago at Suneson's Music in Minneapolis. I have heard him play a couple of times since and he just keeps getting better and better.
