I just returned home from a LONG driving vacation which involved passing through Nashville and wanted to go by Steel Guitar Nashville. Finding the place with all the road construction in Nashville was a bit of a trip; however, I did make it. When I walked in the store Bobbe was sitting shooting the breeze. He made me feel extremely welcome and visited with me for quite some time. Even though he didn't know me from Adam's off ox, he invited me to play any guitar in the store. We visited and I had the opportunity to listen to a true legend up close and personal. After one of the most pleasant interludes of the trip when we left Bobbe even gave me a few goodies. After we were back on the road my children asked my wife and I if that was one of 'dad's buddies'. They were incredulous when I told them to the best of my knowledge that was the first conversation I had ever had with Bobbe. He treated my entire family as if we were his favorite next door neighbors. Several times my family has seen me try to strike up a conversation with other musicians - not nearly on the par with Bobbe - and watched as they blew me off. Not so with him. If you did not know us you would have assumed I had played as much and on as many records as he has. A true southern gentleman. I was glad I got to meet him.

Thanks, Bobbe, for everything and especially for the nice visit.

Bobbe is Ace Numero-Uno !!!!

I'm going make an excursion up there just to peruse the place in the next month or so. THe War Department (aka - wife) has given me prelimary clearance and I just need to get a business trip or 2 out of the way first.

SGN and Bobbe are a class act. I used to catch Bobbe doing some fine picking at Larry Self's show here in central Florida years back and he was always a picker's best friend.

Bob, I understand Bobbe is hugger. He may not settle for just a handshake. I have ordered from Bobbe and visited via Ma Bell and have always found Bobbe to be very polite and helpful. I look forward to the day when I can meet him him in person and see him play.

Randy, my wife and I had an equally pleasant experience when we stopped by Steel Guitar Nashville and visited with Bobbe in April. We not only discussed steel guitars but talked about some of the artists he has recorded and worked with. Without a doubt, Bobbe is a super individual. I encourage all steel players and other musicians to visit his store when they are in the area.

I have sent Bobbe e-mails wanting to buy a volume pedal from him,but i have not had any reply maybe my e-mails are not reaching him, i know he reads the forum so i will ask him on here if he could e-mail me with the details on the payment options .Thanks.

As i have had no reply`s to my e-mails, or to the above,i guese Bobbe`s to busy,or maybe an order for a volume pedal to ship to Great Britain is a problem, and i know it is only a small item and maybe not worth the hassle of shipping to GB,so i will get one from another steel guitar outlet.Thanks.

Bobbe is world-class. I stopped in his place seconds before they were closing on a Saturday after driving three hours from Memphis. He showed me all the things I was looking for and gave me a couple of freebie albums to boot. Rest assured I'll be back. Now if he could just run a few of the other businesses I frequent.

Yes siree, Bobbe is a real, honest-to-goodness gentleman and a friend to steel pickers everywhere. In July I'm gettin' hitched and goin' on a 2 week honeymoon...guess what one of our main stops will be...that's right...Bobbe's place.

My fiance' thinks the world of this dude (hmmmmm) and insists we pay him a visit, besides, it'll be good for this old heart to see him again. What a great gentleman and friend!!

First time I met Bobbe was when I went to Nashville and bought my dad's stringmaster and then stopped off to show him the guitar. Great guy! made me feel just like family. First time he met my dad they shook hands over that very same fender guitar. A neat bit of time spent for me to listen to those old stories. Thanks again Bobbe!

Bobbe gets along so well with EVERYBODY because he's kinda half North , half South.. I believe he's a native New Yorker,[ thats where the REALLY cool steel players come from }.. but wisely left the snow and ice LONG ago to live in beautiful Tennesee... New Yorks loss, is Nashville's gain! He is a very nice guy!! bob

Bobbe Seymour, what a guy! Of all the steel players I know, Bobbe is one of 'em! Yep, one of a kind for sure. (Thank Goodness!!!)

All kidding aside, I've known and dealt with Bobbe since around 1982, and he's always treated me as good as anybody could. The first time I visited his store, it was located not far off the Interstate, in Millersville I believe, but it may have still been in Nashville. Anyway, that day I made a good friend in Bobbe, and appreciate him to this day.

A great person to deal with, and the man's not too shabby a picker either! Definitely has acceptable tone.

I think Bobbe's secret with the women is his cologne...."Ode de 3-in-1" or something like that...ha, ha! Love ya, Bobbe.

Randy,

I will second that!

Without going into detail I was in the midst of the one of the ****tiest weeks on record, sitting around the house not knowing wether to shoot myself or go bowling.

Bobbe rides up on a pretty green Triumph Trophy motorcycle, right on cue. Asks if I want to jump on my bike and ride over to the airport here in Gallatin with him while he gives one of his aircraft some minor maintenance.

Next thing I know he is loading me into the airplane. Motorcycling and flying , my two favorite past times.

Riding our bikes back to my house with him, I couldn't even remember what I was stewing about earlier. What a character!

Bobbe, I love ya man!

P.S. The new Triumph is beautiful!

My son graduated from boot camp in S.C.
so I decided I would take a vacation and drive to go see him. I wanted to go to Nashville so I did and while there I went by Bobby's shop. Bobby was at the airport that day but Dan was there and very helpfull. I was like a kid in a candy store with all those great looking steels. I saw the new MSA for the first time. Sorry I missed Bobby but I took home a few tapes and videos.

I would like to thank you all for the wonderful comments, you guys are very easy to to be nice to. You make my job easy.
I'm looking forward to the steel show in Norwalk CT. November 15th. I have many forum friends in that area that I haven't yet met in person. It's amazing how close you can be as friends and still be so far apart logistically.
Anyone visiting Nashville or coming through town here has a standing invitation to come to visit us at the store, hey, who knows, you might just get some FREE STUFF!!!!

Love you all, Bobbe

Ditto to everything. I had the pleasure of visiting Bobbie's store this spring. Even tho he didn't know me from Adam, and I'm not even a very accomplished SGP, he made me feel right at home and was extremely generous with his knowledge and expirence. Bobbie is a gentleman, and truely a credit to the entire steel guitar/music industry.
