Does anyone know if Canadian songstress Lucille Starr is still alive and touring. And if so, is she carrying a steel player and who is it? Her songs are perfect for a steel guitar.
Thanks, Michael |

I had no idea she was still in the circuit. She had her one hit several decades ago. I never did care for her singing style. Everyone to their own cup of tea I suppose. |

Lucille Starr, wow, what a blast from the past! I remember her from her days in SoCal many years ago when her and Bob Regan went by "The Canadian Sweethearts" I personally always loved her voice which had that fast vibrato which we used to call the "Canadian Trill". When Lacy J. Dalton first came out with "Crazy Blue Eyes" I though it was Lucille. If she's still touring she's got to be an old lady cause I was a teenager when her and Bob were around California and I'm 65 now. While we're on it, is Bob Regan still alive? He was a pretty good guitar player. I remember seeing him on TV once with a TRIPLE neck Mosrite, I guess he was trying to do Joe Maphis one better....JH in Va.

Jerry, I believe Bob Regan passed away in 1990 or so. They were great performers. All the best. Tommy |

Last I heard from Lucille, I backed her up at the Ranchman's in Calgary for a Gary Buck "Legends" show of Canadian stars. She was around 70 and still pretty full of that French "zip" that she had in the earlier years. People went nuts over her. I think she said that she lived in L.A. these days. |
